Chief Dr Mrs Onikepo Nike Akande
Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council

Chief Dr Mrs Onikepo Nike Akande was the First Woman and a Two-Time Minister of Industry of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She is a Harvard Trained Professional and an Investment Expert.

She is an accountant and a renowned Industrialist. A Former President described her as “A role model and an inspiration”. She has participated in a number of International Trade and Investments both in Nigeria and overseas. She is also a recipient of many honors and awards both in Nigeria and overseas including Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON)

Chief Dr Mrs Onikepo Akande has had a distinguished career in Nigeria’s business landscape and her CV can best be described as intimidating. Some of her achievements are highlighted below:

  • - The First Female President of Harvard Business School Association of Nigeria. 2010 to 2012.
  • Group Chairman, Emerging Africa Capital Limited. September 2018 to Date.

  • Chairman of NEPAD Business Group Nigeria (New Partnership for Africa’s Development)
  • Past President of The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). December 2015 to December 2017.

  • She is an honorary Life Vice-President of Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).

  • Director of PZ Cussons Foundation. 2008 to Date.

  • Member of the Advisory Board of NLNG Nigeria Prize for Science. 2016 to Date.
  • Director of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc. 2008 to 2017.

  • Distinguished Honourable Delegate to the National Conference of Nigeria. 2014.

  • Member of the panel to study and re-organise Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

  • Director of Nigeria Industrial Development Bank (NIDB) now Bank of Industry. 1990-1994.

  • International Consultant to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UNIFEM and UNIDO.

  • Member of Vision 2010 and Vision 2020 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

She is happily married to Oba (Dr) Adebayo Murtala Akande, MFR, a Solicitor, a Promoter and Chairman, Splash FM 105.5, Lagelu FM 96.7 and West Midlands Open University (WMOU).

<strong>Senator Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka</strong>

Senator Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka was born on the 14th of May 1952. He passed through Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Ijebu-Igbo; Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode, and Molusi College, Ijebu-Igbo for his WASC, GCE O/L, and A/L., between 1959 to 1975. He was privileged to have been educated at both the Universities of Ibadan and Lagos for the award of B.Sc. Agriculture and MBA Marketing, respectively, between 1975 and 1985.

His one year mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) was at Agricultural Development Corporation, Abakaliki, in the present day Ebonyi State in 1978/79. This was followed by a stint of one year secondary school teaching and briefly a two-months civil service experience with Ogun state government before he joined Livestock Feeds Plc (Pfizer) in 1980 as Technical Sales Representative. Thereafter at Livestock Feeds Plc (Pfizer), he became Area Sales Manager, Group Product Manager, and National Sales Manager. Very much later, as Business Development Manager and Director.

By 1988, providence beckoned, and he was privileged to be appointed Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, and later State Commissioner for Lands and Housing between 1988 and 1991. During the same period, he was the alternate Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning. During these period, his engagements traversed many departments, agencies, corporations, board memberships, and chairmanship.

At different times, between 1998 and 2003,  he was privileged to serve as party official in the capacity of Vice and Acting chairman of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Deputy Governor (during which period, I functioned additionally as commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs). He also worked with others at the federal levels on National Cocoa Rehabilitation and Rice Development Programmes.

In 2011, he was graciously elected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and served until the end of my tenure in 2015. The lawmaking, oversight, and constituency project duties were well discharged to the glory of God and admiration of the majority in my constituencies. Along the ways, he was privileged to have served and still serve in many other capacities,  including but not limited to:

  • Member, Governing Council of Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state.

  • Member, Board of Trustees of Summit University, Offa, Kwara state.

  • Member, Board of Trustees of Al-Jazaau Society of Nigeria.

  • Member, Al-barka Islamic Society of Nigeria.

  • Member and Fellow of many professional, academic, religion, political, and social institutions/organisations.

Senator Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka is happily married with promising children.

Prof. Ganiyu Olatunji Olatunde
Governing Council Member

He holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Zoology, Second Class Upper Division of the University of Lagos, a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Biology and a Doctorate Degree in Agriculture, both of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

He had been a Research Officer I with the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute Lagos, and Research Fellow with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan before joining the services of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he was for 20 years before being appointed by the Osun State University, Osogbo, Osun State.

He has served in various committees of Senate and Councils of Universities. He was one-time Acting Head of Department, Deputy Dean, Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Branch, Zonal Coordinator of Ibadan Zone of ASUU, Coordinator, Student Industrial Work Experience (SIWES), Director of Academic Planning, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and two-time Acting Vice-Chancellor of two State Universities. Additionally, He was a member of the Governing Council of two Universities at different times.

He has attended many professional training courses abroad, and also many Management and Leadership Trainings, both at home and abroad. He is well published in reputable international and national journal outfits, with over 45 publications to his credit.

He is happily married and blessed with children.

Prof. Oladapo Afolabi CFR
Governing Council Member

Prof. Oladapo Afolabi attended the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he acquired the following degrees: BSc (Hons) Biochemistry (1975), MSc Biochemistry (1978) and PhD Applied Chemistry (1981).

He began his academic career in 1976 as a Graduate Assistant at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and rose to the position of Reader in 1990.  In November 1990, he was appointed Professor and Head of Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

His Career in the Federal Public Service commenced when he joined the defunct Federal Environmental Protection Agency (FEPA) in 1991 as a Manager where he served in various capacities.

He was a pioneer staff on creation of the Ministry of Environment in 1999. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Coordinator of the Department of Pollution Control and Environmental Health and later as the Director, Department of Pollution Control and Environmental Health, effective 1991.

On October 20, 2006, he was appointed as a Permanent Secretary of the Federal Civil Service of Nigeria. As a Permanent Secretary, he has served in various ministries. In November 2010, he was appointed as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation of Nigeria. He holds the National Award of the Officer of the Order of Niger, OON. He is happily married and blessed with children.

 

 

Prof. Michael Adebayo Ayeni
PhD, FCNA, FAIA, FCTI, FCr.FA, ACPFA, FCFI, FFAR, CPA Ireland, MNIM
Governing Council Member

Prof. Ayeni is a professional Accountant, trained in the United Kingdom in Leadership and Good Corporate Governance at the University of Pittsburgh, USA America in 2008. He was the pioneer Assistant Registrar of Technical and Standards with the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). He is a member of the Association of Business Valuers of America

He was the Vice-Chairman of the Standards and Ethics Committee and a member of the Practicing and Quality Control Committee of the ANAN during which he served in various capacities meritoriously. He was also the Vice President of the Technical and Standard Setters Forum of the Pan African Federation of Accountants and the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Federation (PAFA). He is a member of the Ethics, Audit and Assurance Committee of the Technical Action Group of PAFA.

He was a member of the Road Map Committee on the Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standard in Nigeria, representing the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria. He is a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners International and the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants of Canada.

He was trained as a Finger Print Examiner by Forensic Pieces, an accredited FBI Trainers in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA IN 2017. He is a Professor of Forensic Accounting at IBLT University Togo and an adjunct lecturer of Forensic accounting at ANAN University Kwall  Jos.

Three-time member of the Education Committee of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria 2019/2020, 2020/2021/2021/2022 and a Council member of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Fraud Investigators of Nigeria.

He is married with children.

She started her academic career as a Junior Trainee Fellow with then Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye in 1985 and rose to the pinnacle of her academic career as a Professor.

She had previously worked with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice as a State Counsel in 1981 after her call to the Nigerian Bar as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

She rose to the post of Senior State Counsel before joining the then Ogun State University. She is happily married and blessed with children.

 

Engr. Olufemi Olukoya
Governing Council Member

Engr. Olufemi Olukoya is an accomplished Senior Executive and CEO with over 30 years of industry experience across Manufacturing, Construction, Healthcare, Telecoms, Energy, and Oil/Gas Sectors.

He has founded numerous domestic and international companies and is respected as a Visionary and Strategic Leader. Notable milestones in Engr. Olukoya's career include serving and providing leadership as Global CEO of Loofca International Limited UK since 2017, with subsidiaries in Nigeria, UAE, Niger, and Malaysia.

Previously holding executive roles with Bulls Healthcare Services, UK as Director from 2013, Harold Bulls Investment Limited, UK as Managing Director from 2011-2022, and Scottish & Southern Energy, UK as Regional Manager, Scotland from 2005-2010.

Engr. Olukoya was Managing Director of Oakstel Global Limited, Nigeria, a pioneer telecommunications company in Nigeria, from 2001-2005 and was involved in the setup of other pioneer telecommunication services companies in Nigeria.

His core expertise spans strategic planning, financial management, operations, business development, and executive leadership. Known for empowering teams and delivering outstanding results, he is a proponent of accountability, ethics, and visionary thinking.

Engr. Olukoya holds M.Sc and B.Sc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. A certifed entrepreneurial. He has been consistently recognized over his distinguished career for engineering innovative solutions and building highly successful organizations across industries and continents.

He is happily married and blessed with children. He is based in Armadale,  Scotland.

Former Executive Director at Sterling Bank and Former Nigbel Merchant Bank. He retired from Banking after 30 years of meritorious service.

Alhaji Ndababo Mohammed Alfa
Governing Council Member

He has BSc Accounting, MBA Finance and BSc Economics. He joined the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 1989 as a Senior Supervisor and retired in 2023 as a Deputy Director. He also worked thereafter in the Financial System Stability Directorate of the CBN in July 2023.

He is a member of the Institute of Certified Economists of Nigeria, fellow of International Professional Managers Association UK, and honorary member of Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Alhaji Ndababo Mohammed Alfa is married with children.

 

Dr Waheed A. Olagunju
Governing Council Member

Dr Waheed A. Olagunju is the immediate past Acting Managing Director / CEO of the Bank of Industry (BOI). During his 29-year career (1990-2019) he held many management positions that included operating as the bank’s longest serving Company Secretary for 16 years. While he was Ag. MD/CEO (2016-2017), BOI recorded improvements in its ratings that were upgraded and affirmed. Moody’s assigned BOI Aa1 in 2016 up from Ba3 of 2015. Agusto’s rating of AA- in 2016 was higher than A+ of 2015. AA+ assigned by Fitch in 2015 was affirmed in 2016.

Dr. Olagunju is an alumnus of the University of Lagos, Queens University, Canada, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania USA, and Paris School of Business where he bagged his doctorate degree in Business Administration.

Dr. Olagunju Headed the Sub Committee on Specialised Financial Institutions of the Technical Working Group on Financial Sector and Capital Markets that produced Nigeria’s National Development Plan 2021- 2025. He is married with children and grandchildren.

 

Prof. Onasanya Amos Adeyinka
Vice Chancellor Aletheia University
Governing Council Member

Prof. Onasanya Amos Adeyinka is the current Vice Chancellor of Aletheia University. He is a Professor of Biochemistry since 2015 specialized in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow Plant Pathology with Africa Rice Center, a member of Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

He holds a PhD degree in Biochemistry with specialization in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

He is a molecular biology and biotechnology scientist with over 28 years of international research and university experience. He has worked on several international donor projects with international and regional partners and scientists including supervision of masters and PhD students both within and outside Africa. He has received several national and international awards such as “2009 Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researcher”.

He has over 144 scientific peer-reviewed research publications published in various international journals.

Mr. Akintan Olatunji Nojeem
Registrar Aletheia University
Secretary Governing Council

Mr. Akintan is currently the Registrar of Aletheia University. He attended the then Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye for his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Master of Personnel Psychology degree.

He started his University administrative career at Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye in 1991 as an Administrative Officer ll and rose to the rank of Deputy Registrar in 2007.

Mr. Akintan has over 30 years work experience in university administration. He had worked in all the core divisions of the Registry including, Establishments, Academic Affairs, Senate and Admissions, and Council and General Administration. Mr. Akintan has attended several professional Conferences, Workshops and Seminars within and outside the Country. He has great capacity to work under pressure and has eyes for details.  He has been a conscientious worker who has been handling administrative duties on a continuous basis in the last 32 years.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA), Member Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) and Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered).
